A fine craftsman would take several small leather goat hides and lay them out on a piece of furniture, overlapping every other. Then in a painstaking process, he would use a very sharp tool to cut through the two overlapping edges of every hide until he achieved a smooth surface resembling a jigsaw puzzle. The surface was then hand-finished layer by layer until it reveryed a furniture grade thickness. Our ?Goatskin? laminate artfully reproduces this technique at a fraction of the cost. FINISH: The ?Brazilian Granite? features Sandberg?s exclusive Ultragloss finish. The ?Goatskin? features a urethane topcoat with a subtle low sheen. HARDWARE: Finished in a wonderful ?antique? and ?weathered? bronze tone, these unique drawer pulls are a perfect complement to both the ?Brazilian Granite? and ?Goatskin? finishes. The detail on every pull elegantly rounds over to form a delicate seam like that of the goatskin hides. CONSTRUCTION: European 32mm dowel construction with roller-glide metal drawer runners. Drawers are wood grained sides with white bottoms. Bed rails are metal-to-metal bolt-on type for the Estate Bed. The Wall Bed features a sturdy construction that bolts the Pier Columns to the Night Stands at the base as well as to the Light Bridge at the top.
